Abstract

The implementation of this study is to examine the practice among national school teachers on professional learning community in Kuching, Sarawak. In particular, the implementation of this study is quantitative which involved distribution of questionnaires to 1,115 teachers primary schools in Kuching, Sarawak to identify the level of implementation of the professional learning community, differences in the level of implementation of the learning community of professionals based on the location of the school, the academic level of teachers and duration of service. Data was analysed using descriptive statistics such as mean and standard deviation and inferential methods (ANOVA and multiple regression analysed). The finding of this study shows that the level of implementation of professional community learning was at the frequently practiced when the mean score was 3.80 and standard deviation 0.434. In terms of differences in the level of implementation of professional community learning based on the location of the school, there was significant difference between rural schools and urban schools (p< .05). The implication of this study is that there is a need to identify the factors affecting the level of implementation of professional learning community practices in the context of local needs.
