Physical Education (PE) offers significant potential as a learning space that supports the development of communication, leadership, collaboration, and social responsibility through meaningful learning experiences. However, the effectiveness of soft skills integration depends on how teachers lead and manage learning experiences through instructional practices. Therefore, this study aimed to explore the instructional leadership practices of Physical Education teachers in integrating students’ soft skills and to identify instructional leadership strategies that support the integration of soft skills in PE teaching. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews involving four Form One Physical Education teachers in Perak and analysed using thematic analysis. The findings indicate that instructional leadership practices were reflected through establishing soft skills-based learning goals, managing learning experiences systematically, and empowering students through interaction and leadership. In addition, the identified strategies included systematic instructional planning, the use of game-based pedagogical approaches, and the integration of assessment within learning experiences. The study suggests that strengthening instructional leadership among Physical Education teachers has the potential to support holistic student development through the integration of soft skills in learning experiences. date: 2026-07 date_type: published publication: Jurnal Kepimpinan Pendidikan volume: 3 number: 13 publisher: Universiti Malaya pagerange: 88-101 id_number: https://doi.org/10.22452/ refereed: TRUE issn: 2289-9669 citation: Mohd Zaki, Hairol Nezam and Syed Ali, Syed Kamaruzaman and Hussin, Zaharah and Ladin, Che Aleha (2026) Amalan kepimpinan instruksional guru pendidikan jasmani dalam menerapkan kemahiran insaniah murid sekolah menengah.
